HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow sailing team excelled at the Rainbow Invite as their coed teams took first, second and fourth, while their women's team finished first in the women's division and sixth overall at Keehi Lagoon Sunday.
The UH Red team of Bryan Lake and Meredith Adams and Joey Pasquali and Carly Allen won the Rainbow Invite with a total of 100 points. UH's Green team finished second with 113 points. Eric Oppen and Cassandra Harris were the Green teams' A-division squad while William Edwards and Heather Sturm sailed in the B-division.
The UH Blue team of Matt Stine and Sarah Reed and Richard Marsh, Jeffrey Boyd and Lindsay Peters finished fourth with 153 points, just eight points behind UC Irvine in third.
UH's women's team of Jennifer Warnock and Shandy Buckley and Renee DeCurtis and Barbara (BJ) Clausen won the women's division and finished sixth overall with 159 points.
UC Santa Barbara finished fifth overall with 156. UC Irvine's women's team finished second in the women's division, followed by Stanford.
