LAIE, OAHU - A split squad for the University of Hawai'i women's cross country team finished fourth this morning in the BYU-Hawai'i Invitational held on the BYUH Campus in Laie.
UH sent only five runners, two running their first races of the season. The team finished in fourth place with 125 points as Hawai'i Pacific won the meet with 20 points. Host BYUH placed second (49) and Chaminade was third (70).
UH's top runner was freshman Katie Flynn, of Littleton, Colo., who finished in 23rd place with a time of 26 minutes flat. The other four UH runners follwing Flynn were Jordana Whittington (26:01), Kelly Young (27:35), Hannah Eberhard (27:35.2), and Allegra Erisman (27:36) taking 24th through 27th places, respectively.
UH host one of its two home meets Sept. 20, at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course with the men's race to start at 7:30 a.m. and the women's to follow at 7:50 a.m.
