ST. GEORGE, Utah.--Hawaii shot a total of 466 (+44) and stands in tie for 15th place after the first day of the Utah Dixie Classic at the Sunbrook Golf Course in St. Geroge, Utah.
UH shot 313 (+25) on the first 18 holes of the 5,911-yard course and fired a 144 (+19) on the day's last nine holes. Freshman Tara Chappell was UH's top golfer carding a seven-over-par 115. Senior Bobbie Arakawa is a stroke behind with a 116 total (+8).
San Francisco leads the 22-team field at 15-over par. Lady Dons Jordan Auten and Joan Shimozaki are the individual leaders at even-par.
The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final 27 holes.
