Boise, ID –The University of Hawai`i women’s tennis team ended their season, Friday March 25 with a loss to No. 1 seed Fresno State, 4-0. The Rainbow Wahine will not be advancing to the next round of play.
The Rainbow Wahine advanced to the second round of play after a win Friday morning against San Jose State. Fresno State captured the win after capturing the doubles point and three of six singles matches. With wins on the No. 1 and 2 doubles courts, Fresno State started the meet ahead 1-0 going into singles action.
In singles play, wins on the No. 2, 4, and 6 courts gave Fresno State a 4-0 lead and the win. On the No. 2 court, Paige Mainor dropped her match to No. 115 Lucia Tallo, 6-0, 6-1. Senior Stacy Hakikawa did not get to finish her final match as a senior, she finishes the season with a 12-14 record.
The Rainbow Wahine finish the season with a 11-13 record.
