Waipio, HI –The University of Hawai`i women’s tennis team could not be stopped today at the Central Oahu Tennis Complex. UH beat out the Spartans 6-1 improving their record to 8-10 on the season and 1-1 in the WAC.

The Rainbow Wahine jumped to an early 1-0 lead with wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles court. On the No. 3 court the doubles team of Stacy Hakikawa and Mio Fukushima beat out San Jose’s Elke Harms and Kerilyn Grant, 8-3. The win marks the pair’s fourth win in six matches.

In singles play the Rainbow Wahine lost just a single match on their way to victory. On the No. 2 court Paige Mainor dropped her first set 5-7, but powered her way back in the second set 6-3. But Ana Lukner of San Jose proved too much for Mainor. Lukner won the last set 3-6.
