Rainbow Wahine Defeat UC Irvine 7-4 On The Road

IRVINE, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i women's water polo team picked up their second win of the season over UC Irvine. Ranked ninth nationally the Rainbow Wahine won, 7-4, defeating the eighteenth ranked Anteaters.

UC Irvine scored first in the opening period to put the Anteaters up 1-0. Hawai`i would not back down, scoring a goal of their own by the end of the first period and three more in the second. The Wahine sealed the win with two goals in the fourth period.

With the victory over UC Irvine, The Rainbow Wahine advance to 1-0 in the MPSF, and 2-3 overall.

Next up, Hawai`i faces No. 2 UCLA on Saturday at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center. The Rainbow Wahine has yet to win a match in 15 opportunities against the Bruins. The squad lost its season opener against UCLA, 7-3, at the Stanford Invitational earlier this month.
