Warriors Move into 11th at Burns

Day Two Results

WAHIAWA, Oahu - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team utilized a 284 second round to jump three spots into 11th place at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate at Leilehua Golf Course. Hawai`i has a two-day total of 580, well within striking distance of the Top-10.

The Warriors were boosted behind junior James Beston's six-under-par 66. Beston, who leads the tournament in par-4 scoring (3.70), improved 10-strokes from his first day total to move into a tie for 16th. Fellow junior Matt Kodama added a 71 to his first round of 70, which moved him into a tie for seventh.

Arizona continues to lead the team competition with a 563 total, 13-shots under par. Utah's Casey Fowles took over the individual lead after a round of 68 gave him a 137 total.

The final round of the 54-hole tournament will be conducted tomorrow with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
