Warriors Finish in 18th at Taylor Made

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - The University of Hawai`i men's golf team struggled on the final day of the Waikoloa/Taylor Made Intercollegiate, shooting a final round 297 to finish in a tie for 18th.

The Warriors managed a team score of 875, but were unable to make any ground on the teams ahead of them, although the team scores were relatively high on the day. The team was led by junior Matt Kodama, who finished in a tie for 48th with a 217 total. Five shots behind him was sophomore Kellen-Floyd Asao who finished tied for 73rd.

UCLA retained their second round lead to take home the team title, with an 836 total. The Bruins finished just two shots better than TCU, who finished in second behind the play of medallist Adam Meyer. Meyer, one of the few golfers who had three rounds in the 60s, finished with a 202 total.

The Warriors will next host the John A. Burns Intercollegiate held at the Leilehua Golf Course in Wahiawa, Oahu. The three-day tournament will be contested from Feb. 19-21, with 18-holes to be played each day.
