WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Hawai‘I women’s tennis team posted its second victory of the season with a 7-0 shutout of Whitman College, Wednesday, at the Bratton Tennis Center. The Rainbow Wahine improved to 2-4.
UH swept all six singles and all three doubles matches against the Missionaries, a Division III school. Stacy Hakikawa (No. 2), Renata Camargo (No. 4), Justine Boutet (No. 5), and Paige Mainor (No. 6) each recorded their first victories of the season.
Hakikawa and Mio Fukushima teamed up for the first time this season at No. 1 doubles and picked up the victory over Carissa Klarich and Hannah Swee, 8-1.
Hawai‘i wraps up its six-match road trip against Gonzaga, Thursday.
