Rainbow Wahine Blanked by Broncos

BOISE, Idaho – The Hawai‘i women’s tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to Boise State, in a Western Athletic Conference match, at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center. The Rainbow Wahine fall to 1-4, 0-1 in league play.

UH lost all six singles matches and the three doubles contests against the Broncos, ranked No. 58 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. Freshman Mio Fukushima had her modest two-match win streak come to an end against Erin Polowski in No. 4 singles, 6-3 6-0. The Rainbow Wahine lost every match in straight sets, including Lauren Fitzgerald’s 7-6, 6-2 setback to Renate Stoop in No. 1 singles.

In doubles competition, Stacy Hakikawa and Renate Carmago teamed up for the first time this season but lost their match to Polowski and Jemima Hayward, 8-2 in the top doubles spot.
