Hawaii Finishes 11th in Las Vegas Tournament

HENDERSON, Nevada--The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team finished the Las Vegas Founders Womens Collegiate Showdown in 11th place with a three day total of 934. Hawai'i posted a 310 round two and 314 round three on the 6194-yard Anthem Country Club golf course. The tournament was hosted by UNLV.

Sara Odelius led the way for the Rainbow Wahine with a second-round 76 and a third- round 73. Odelius finished 17th on the leader board with 223. She finished ten strokes behind Katrina Leckovic, the individual champion from New Mexico. Also competing for UH were Rene Krause (235, T49), Dale Gammie (238, T56), Megan Stoddart (239, T60) and Tara Chappell (242, T65).

New Mexico took home the team championship by an impressive 18-stroke margin over second place Tennessee. The Las Vegas Founders Women's Collegiate Showdown marks the end of the fall season for Rainbow Wahine golf team. UH returns to action on Feb. 16th and 17th at the Bay Area Classic, hosted by the University of San Francisco.
