LAS CRUCES, New Mexico- The University of Hawai`i women's golf team shot a second-round 315 to drop one spot into ninth place at the Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate hosted by New Mexico State. UH's has a two-day total of 622.
Sara Odelius, who carded a one-under 71 during Monday's first-round action, struggled on the second day with an eight-over 80 and fell from second place to a tie for 12th. Odelius is still the team's top performer with a 151, followed by fellow freshman Dale Gammie who is in a tie for 25th place with a total of 153 after a five-over 77 second round. Also competing for Hawai`i are freshman Megan Stoddart (78-77 --155), sophomore Brooke Jackson (82-81 -- 163) and senior Megan McGuinness (87-88 -- 175).
Oklahoma leads the 16-team field with a score of 598, four strokes ahead of second-place LSU. Kansas State's Christine Boucher and Texas Tech's Kim Kolb share the individual lead at two-over par 146 after two rounds. Par is 72 for the 6,319-yard New Mexico State Golf Course.
The final round of the Price's 'Give 'Em Five' Intercollegiate tournament will begin tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
