Warriors Finish 8th at Wolf Pack Classic; Kodama Finishes Second

RENO, Nevada--The University of Hawaii Warrior golf team shot a even-par 288 and a four-over 292 in the final two rounds of the Ernest F. Lied Wolf Pack Classic Tuesday. UH finished with a score of 869 and sole possession of 8th place in the 18-team field.

Matt Kodama led the way for the Warriors with an impressive second day, coming one stroke shy of the individual title. The senior shot a four-under par 68 and a six-under par 66 to finish with a three-day total of 206. Kodama, who stood in 27th place after the first round with an even-par 72, produced second runner-up showing of the season.

Freshman Geoffrey Stevens who was tied for first at the end of round one with a 68, slipped to 40th place and into a tie with teammate James Beston. The pair finished the Classic by carding 219. Also competing for the Warriors were Manarii Gauthier (227) and Jordan Belton (236).

Denver took home the team championship with a total of 847, edging Utah by one stroke. The Utes Garrett Cleg scored a 54-hole total of 205 to take home individual medallist honors, beating out Kodama and UTEP's Chris Baryla. Hawaii next tees it up at the Barona Collegiate Classic hosted by San Diego State, Oct. 20-21.
