HONOLULU - The No. 2 University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine (24-1, 10-0 WAC) swept through the Boise State Broncos (5-19, 1-8 WAC) 30-20, 30-20 and 30-25 in front of a crowd of 6,650 at the Stan Sheriff Center Thursday, extending UH's WAC winning streak to 75 matches.

Lily Kahumoku had an amazing line in her return to the UH lineup. The All-American put away 11 kills on just 13 attempts, in just two games played, for a .846 hitting percentage that is the highest by a UH player in the rally-scoring era and sixth highest ever.

Kim Willoughby led all players with 16 kills and three aces, while Lauren Duggins added seven kills and a .462 hitting percentage in two games played. Alicia Arnott added five kills on just six attempts (.833 hitting percentag) in the third game alone while Maja Gustin added six kills, two blocks and a .455 hitting percentage in two games. Kanoe Kamana`o also played well in the first two games, tallying 28 assists and a match-high four blocks (including two block solos). Melissa Villaroman led the way in the back row, picking up nine digs.

Hawai`i spotted the Broncos three points to start the match before a kill and an ace by Duggins started a four-point run for the Rainbow Wahine. Boise State kept it close at 9-7 before a huge 8-1 run on the serves of Tano and Kahumoku put UH up 17-8. Hawai`i would then coast the rest of the way, taking game one 30-20.

The Rainbow Wahine jumped out to a 4-1 lead early on in game two. UH would keep adding to their lead, taking leads of 9-3, 16-8 and 25-16 before taking the game 30-20.

UH would unload the bench for the third game, starting a lineup with five different players. The subs would keep up the intensity, jumping out to a 6-1 lead to force a BSU timeout. After letting the Broncos get back into it at 6-3, Willoughby took over with a kill and three straight aces to extend the UH lead to 10-3. Boise State would continue to fight, going on a 6-1 run late, cutting the deficit to 26-23. But it wouldn't be enough as Arnott put away two kills in the final four points of the match, giving the Rainbow Wahine a 30-25 game three victory.

UH will have the rest of the week off before heading back on the road for two WAC matches at Nevada and Fresno State, on Nov. 6, at 7 p.m., and Nov. 9, at noon, respectively. The Fresno State match has been moved from Nov. 8 to Nov. 9 as the Bulldogs will host the Rainbow Wahine in the first-ever sporting event in their newly built Save Mart Center.
