LAIE, OAHU - The University of Hawai`i split its 22-active member squad up and sent five to Laie to participate in the Brigham Young University-Hawai`i Invitational and placed fourth overall. The majority of the UH squad ran in the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
Transfer Michelle Romance paced the Rainbow Wahine placing 18th overall among the 28 runners this morning. She came in with a time of 21 minutes and 43 seconds.
Teammate Erin Lopez followed Romance in 19th coming in at 21:48. The other three scorers for the Rainbow Wahine were Lana Phillips (22nd, 22:49), Michelle Le (24th, 23:28), and Shawna Kawasaki (26th, 24:47).
Hawai`i Pacific took team honors totaling 26 points, followed in second by Hawai`i-Hilo with 43, and in third was host BYU-Hawai`i at 67. Chaminade did not qualify as they only had four runners.
Hawai`i Pacific's Sayuri Kusutani captured first overall with a time of 18 minutes and 19 seconds.
