Rainbow Sailing Finishes Respectably at St. Francis Intersectional

The University of Hawai`i coed sailing team finished fifth, eighth and 19th, April 6-7, at the St. Francis Yacht Club Intersectional in San Francisco. Hawai`i-1, with Bryan Lake, Jennifer Warnock, Adam Corpuz-Lahne and Lindsay Peters earned 151 points in their fifth-place finish. Hawai`i-2 with Steve Brown, Adrianne Duckrow, Renee DeCurtis and Melody Torres earned 187 points. John Sharkey, Ann Feeley-Summerl, Tyler Salvo and Hannah Brandt of Hawai`i-007 finished 19th with 353 points.

Stanford won the 10-race regatta, with USC and California coming in second and third, respectively.

The Rainbow coed team is currently ranked 10th in the latest Sailing World magazine college poll. The Rainbow Wahine are ranked fifth.

Next up for Hawai`i sailing is the Dellenbaugh Women's Trophy for the Rainbow Wahine, April 13, in Bristol, R.I. The coed team sails next at the Thompson Trophy, April 20, in New London, Conn.
