Final Round of Cougar Classic Cancelled Due to Snow: Warriors Finish Ninth

PROVO, Utah ? The final round of the PING Cougar Classic was cancelled, April 20, due to a freak snow storm. As a result the Warriors finished ninth with a 593 36-hole total.

Junior Kramer Aoki had his best finish of his career with a tie for 16th. Thanks to back-to-back career best rounds of 73-71, Aoki led Hawai`i with an even-par 144 total. Junior Jaime Matsumura finished in a tie for 38th with a 149 total, despite a debilitating second round of 80.

Host Brigham Young, Nevada, and Colorado State tied for the lead with 569 totals. Fresno State?s Nick Watney got individual honors thanks to rounds of 68 and 66. Watney?s 134 total was three shots better than teammate Jonathan Echols.

The Warriors will next tee up when they host the WAC Championships at the Turtle Bay Resort, April 25-27.
