Rainbows Fall to USC

LOS ANGELES -- The 11th-ranked University of Hawaii water polo team fell to second-ranked USC, 9-1, in the final Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match of the season at the McDonald's Swim Stadium.

USC (19-3, 10-1 MPSF) scored three goals in the first period and breezed through the rest of the match. Hawaii (11-12, 5-6 MPSF), playing in its second road match in as many days, managed one goal in the third period by freshman 2M Beth Novick. It was Novick's third goal of the trip.

The Women of Troy got three goals from Aniko Pelle and at least one from four other players, and were able to contain UH senior utility Karin van Hoff who scored a career-high seven goals at San Diego State Thursday.

Hawaii will wrap-up the regular season at The Beach Invitational this weekend in Long Beach, Calif.
