HONOLULU - The ninth-ranked University of Hawaii women's water polo team won its third straight match by defeating Brown, 6-2, at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex Friday night.

It was good Friday indeed, especially for Hawaii's sophomore utility Chelsea Garner-Prohs who scored three goals to boost the Rainbow Wahine to a 2-0 record in the Rainbow Challenge. Garner-Prohs scored her first goal at the 4:46 mark in the first period when she rifled a toss from senior utility Karin van Hoff into the back of the net. Hawaii (10-8) lead 2-1 at the half and then mother nature took over.

Rain came pouring out of the Manoa sky and the Rainbow Wahine responded by scoring four goals in the third period to control the rest of the match. Brown's Barbara Edwards scored both goals for the Bears. Traci Trochinski, Tessa Curti and van Hoff rounded out the scoring for Hawaii.

The Rainbow Wahine will play two matches tomorrow, the first against UC San Diego at 10 a.m. and the nightcap against UC Davis at 6 p.m. The Rainbow Challenge will conclude tomorrow with UC Davis vs. Brown at 11:30 a.m. and UC San Diego against Brown at 4:30 p.m. All matches will be played at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
