Rainbow Wahine Finish Third; Coed Team finish Fourth

The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine sailing team finished third at the Navy Women’s Spring Intersectional, March 9-10, in Annapolis Md. Molly O’Bryan, Sarah Hitchcock earned 43 points for a third place finish in the A division. Renee DeCurtis and Melody Torres finished in fourth place in the B division with 59 points. Old Dominion won the 10-race regatta with St. Mary’s College placing second. The Rainbow Wahine are ranked ninth in the latest Sailing World magazine college poll.

The coed Hawai`i team also sailed on March 9-10 and placed fourth at the St. Mary’s Team Race Intersectional in St. Mary’s City, Md. Bryan Lake, Joey Pasquali, Matt Stine, Lindsey Peters, Jennifer Warnock and Sarah Reed finished the round-robin event with a 11-8 record. The coed team is currently ranked fifth in Sailing World magazine’s college poll.

Next up for Hawai`i sailing is the St. Mary’s Women’s Intersectional for the Wahine team in St. Mary’s City, Md., and the Truxton Umstead Intersectional for the coed team in Annapolis, Md. Both regattas are on March 16-17.
