TREASURE ISLAND, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Coed Sailing team picked up a big victory this past weekend, winning the Stoney Burke Intersectional, which was held on Oct. 12 and 13, hosted by the University of California-Berkeley.
Hawai`i beat next best USC by 19 points, and were 58 points better than Stanford, who ended up in third.
UH's Bryan Lake skippered the winning team in the A division, who picked up five first place finishes, one second and three thirds, beating the next closest team by 18 points. Lake was joined on the A team by Elena Millard.
Hawai`i's B team, skippered by Joey Pasqualli, took second in the B division, losing to USC by just seven points. The team took first three times, second four times and third three times. Pasqualli was joined by Sarah Hitchcock in the B division.
