KANEOHE, OAHU. - The University of Hawai`i split its women's cross country squad this morning with seven competing here at the Hawai`i Pacific Cross Country Invitational. This morning before a mostly sunny morning on the windward side of Oahu, where the old Hawai`i Loa campus was located.
UH totaled 114 points for fourth in the five-team meet, sandwiched between Chaminade (90 pts.) in third and Irvine Valley College (142) in fifth. HPU won the mostly local-only meet with 21 points followed in second by BYU-Hawai`i (47).
UH's Lee was the top finisher for the Rainbow Wahine coming in 13th with a time of 25 minutes and 34 seconds in the 6-kilometer course.
Erin Lopez was second for UH in 20th place with a time of 26:58. The other UH scorers were clumped together finishing 26th through 29th. Lana Phillips (28:59), Michelle Le (29:11), Shawna Kawasaki (29:48), and Ashley Quinn (30:00) were in that group. The final runner for UH was Michelle Romance crossing the line at 32:24 in 32nd place.
