Tam-Anh Nguyen

Tam-Anh Nguyen joined the University of Hawai‘i Athletics Department in September 2025.
 
Nguyen currently holds the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer for since 2025. In her role, Nguyen is responsible for managing the healthcare of the women’s basketball and women’s golf teams.
 
Nguyen previously worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the women’s basketball and cheer teams at University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to her time at UTSA, Nguyen was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Eastern Connecticut State University, where she was responsible for the care of men’s ice hockey, women’s rugby, men’s rugby, cheer, and football teams.
 
At UTSA, Nguyen played an integral role in helping the Roadrunners women’s basketball team become the first program in school history to win a regular season American Athletic Conference (AAC) championship in 2024. Notably, she provided direct care for both the AAC Player of the Year and the AAC Newcomer of the Year, contributing to their peak performance throughout the season. In addition, Nguyen was appointed as the lead bench attendant for the 2025 Men’s Final Four, held in San Antonio, Texas.
 
The Houston, Texas native earned her bachelor’s of science in Athletic Training from the University of Texas in 2019 and a master’s of science in kinesiology from the University of Connecticut in 2022.
 
Nguyen is a member of National Athletic Training Association, Collegiate Athletic Training Society, & Women Leaders in Sports.
 
 She currently resides in Manoa.
