Maureen Flanagan

Maureen Flanagan begins her first season as an assistant coach for the Rainbow Wahine women's water polo team.

Flanagan graduated from UCLA in 2005, where she earned her bachelor of arts degree in business/economics.

In the pool, she was a consistent player for UCLA witha  lot of athletic and academic success.

She was a member three Bruin national title teams - 2000-01 and '03.  During her collegiate career, she also earned Academic All-America kudos while also making two stints on the national teams.

The former driver led the Junior National Team to the Pan-American and Junior World championships from 2000-02.  Then spent the 2003-04 seasons as a part of the Senior National Team.  She made it to the final selections of the U.S. Olympic team that participated in Athens, Greece.

Following her UCLA career, she stayed on with the Bruins as an undergraduate assistant for a season.

Flanagan is no stranger to Hawai`i water polo.  She was a standout swimmer and water polo player for Punahou School, where she graduated in 1999.

During her prep career, Flanagan led the Punahou to four-straight league titles.  She earned Academic All-America honors in 1997 and went on to captain the squad her senior season.

At Punahou, she was also a standout swimmer winning the state titles in the 50 Free and 100 Free.

The former Buffanblu was the recipient of the 1997 and 1999 Leslie Comfort Award presented to the Most Valuable Hawaiian Female.

She currently resides in Honolulu, O`ahu.
