Kaopua "KP" Sutton was named assistant coach in charge of the throwing events on Sept. 18, 2018. Sutton enters her third season in Manoa in 2021.

• Coached Alexis Brenzil to a 13th place finish at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in 2019.
• Coached two athletes to top eight finishes at the 2018 Midwest Conference Championships.
• At Central Arkansas, helped lead the throwers to 13 Top 10 all-time school performances.
• Also coached a combined-event athletes to second place at the Southland Conference Championships.

THROWING HIGHLIGHTS

• Won the 2015 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference in the shot put at Minnesota-Morris and was the conference runner-up in the weight throw.
• Placed 10th in shot put during her third trip to NCAA Division III Championships.
• At Carleton College, captured the national championship in the discus in 2014.
• Holds the indoor and outdoor shot put school record as well as the discus school record.
• Won the discus title at the 2014 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship and was second in both the indoor and outdoor shot put during her senior year.
