COACHING HIGHLIGHTS

  • Served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Hawai‘i in 2022.
  • As offensive coordinator, directed an Eastern Washington offense that averaged 537.1 yards and 41.3 points per game in three seasons.
  • Coached an offense that finished top three nationally in total offense for three straight seasons, including the No. 1 spot in 2019. 
  • Mentored a pair of players considered for national Player of the Year honors, including EWU’s Eric Barriere, a two-time Walter Payton Award finalist who went on to win the 2021 award as the FCS National Player of the Year. 
  • Won two Great Northwest Athletic Conference championships as a head coach at Central Washington in 2017 and ‘18 while accumulating a win percentage of .704.
  • Named NCAA D-II Region 4 Coach of the Year (2017) and GNAC Coach of the Year (2017). 
  • Coached five NCAA playoff teams and developed 16 All-Americans over his various stops. 
  • Established 61 total offensive school records and directed the number-one ranked offense as offensive coordinator at four different programs including  Eastern Washington, St. Cloud State, Kenyon, and Minot State. 
  • Also served as head baseball coach at Minot State and St. Mary’s College in Kansas.

PLAYING HIGHLIGHTS

  • A four-year starter in both football and baseball at Grinnell College. 
  • Was the Most Valuable Player and Offensive Back of the Year in football and set school records for home runs in a season and career in baseball.
