SERIES INFORMATION
  • Hawai‘i retained possession of the Kuter Trophy with its second straight win over the Falcons. UH last defeated Air Force 27-13 in 2023 in Honolulu.
  • The Rainbow Warriors won for the second straight time in Colorado Springs (last in 2016) and for the third time in nine meetings there.
  • Air Force still leads the all-time series 14-9-1.
  • The teams have split their six all-time meetings in Mountain West play.
 
UH IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST
  • UH improved to 35-70 (.333) all-time in the MW, including 15-36 (.294) on the road.
  • Timmy Chang is now 9-16 in MW games with a 3-9 mark on the road.
 
TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS
  • After entering the season having lost 15 straight nationally televised games, UH has won two of its three nationally televised games this season.
  • UH ended a string of 14 straight losses in road games on national TV with its last win in such a scenario coming in 2019 at Nevada.
 
INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS
  • After a trio of field goals, Kansei Matsuzawa sits alone with a new UH record of 16 straight field goals made to the start the season, surpassing Rigoberto Sanchez (13 in 2016).
  • He also set a new Mountain West record for consecutive field goals made to start a season surpassing UNLV’s Daniel Gutierrez previous mark of 15 straight in 2022.
  • Dating back to last season, Matsuzawa has made 17 straight field goals, the second longest streak in school history. Jason Elam holds the record with 20 straight made during the 1989 season.
  • Pofele Ashlock has caught a pass in all 30 games he has played in.
  • Ashlock has had multiple receptions in 21 straight games.
  • Ashlock registered his 24th game with four or more catches which is tied for the most by an FBS player since 2023 (Lewis Bond, Boston College).
  • Karsyn Pupunu, Jalen Smith and Jamih Otis each played in their 31st straight game, tied for the longest streak on the team.
 
TEAM NOTES
  • UH’s 44 points were the most in the Timmy Chang era and the most since UH’s 50-45 win over Colorado State in its 2021 home finale.
  • It was also UH’s most points on the road since a 45-31 win at New Mexico in 2019.
  • UH’s 535 yards of offense was a season-high and the third-highest total under Timmy Chang.
  • UH set a new program record with a 24-play drive in the second quarter. The drive was two plays short of the FBS record (26 plays, Navy vs. New Mexico, 2004).
  • The drive, which resulted in a 31-yard field goal by Kansei Matsuzawa, was 80 yards long and ate up 12:14 of the clock.
  • After entering the game with no rushing touchdowns through their first five games of the season, UH scored a pair of touchdowns on the ground against the Falcons.
  • After entering the game with a nation-leading 12 turnovers committed, UH had its second turnover-free game this season and won the turnover battle for the second time as well (1-0).
  • UH had its two-longest plays from scrimmage this year on Cam Barfield’s 59-yard catch on the opening drive and Jackson Harris’ 74-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter.
  • Air Force registered the two longest plays from scrimmage by a UH opponent after Liam Szarka’s 67-yard run on Air Force’s opening drive of the game and Cade Harris’ 73-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter.
  • UH scored on its opening drive for the second time in six games this year (also versus Sam Houston)
  • UH started the game with eight straight third-down conversions and finished the game 14-of-19 overall.
  • Nine of the third-down conversions came in situations in which UH needed at least five yards to convert.
  • The Rainbow Warriors committed a season-low four penalties for 17 yards.
  • A season-high 10 different players had at least one catch in the game.
  • Hawai‘i has had at least one player with five or more receptions in 22 consecutive games, dating back to November 2023, tied for the longest FBS streak in the country with fellow Mountain West member Utah State.
  • Hawai‘i now has a combined record of 16-16-1 versus the military academies and a 6-18 all-time mark in games played in the state of Colorado.
  • Air Force set season opponent highs for rushing yards (216), passing yards (278) and total yards (494).
  • Head coach Timmy Chang picked up just his third road win in 19 tries.
 
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Micah Alejado posted his second career 400-yard passing game with 457 yards on 35-of-47 passing and three touchdowns.
  • Alejado is the first quarterback in program history to throw for 450+ yards twice in his first five career starts. Colt Brennan had two 450+ games in his first six starts.
  • Alejado’s 463 yards of total offense (457 passing, 6 rushing) is the most by an FBS player so far this season.
  • Jackson Harris recorded career highs in receptions (7), receiving yards (144) and touchdowns (2) as well as the longest catch of his career with a 74-yard touchdown.
  • Brandon White scored his first career touchdown with a 24-yard reception on UH’s second possession of the game. He finished with a career-best seven catches (50 yards).
  • Tama Uiliata also set a new high for receptions with six (42 yards).
  • With four receptions, Pofele Ashlock (182) surpassed Walter Murray (178) to move into the top 10 all-time at UH in receptions.
  • Landon Sims scored his second touchdown of the season and his first on the ground with a 1-yard score in the third quarter. It was Sims’ third career rushing touchdown.
  • Cam Barfield scored his first career rushing touchdown on a 27-yard scamper in the fourth quarter. He also set a new career-high with 64 receiving yards.
  • In his second start of the season, Matagi Thompson recorded four tackles and his first career interception late in the third quarter that helped set up a UH touchdown.
  • Devyn King earned his first start of the season and finished with three tackles.
  • Luther McCoy made his first career start as a Rainbow Warriors. He had two tackles, including one for loss, and had a quarterback hurry that forced an Air Force interception.
