SERIES INFORMATION
  • Hawai‘i reclaimed possession of the Paniolo Trophy after dropping its previous two games in the series vs. Wyoming — 2022 in Honolulu and 2023 in Laramie.
  • The win was UH’s first in Honolulu since 2018 (17-13 at Aloha Stadium).
  • Four of the last five meetings have been decided by 20 points or more.
  • Wyoming still leads the all-time series 17-12 and the series is tied, 8-8, in Honolulu.
  • The teams have played nine times in Mountain West play with the Cowboys, holding a 5-4 edge in  those games.
 
UH IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST
  • UH improved to 39-72 (.351) all-time in the MW, including 23-34 (.404) at home.
  • Timmy Chang is 13-18 in MW games with a 9-7 mark at home.
 
TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS
  • Hawai‘i has won its last eight Senior Night games and 13 of its last 14 dating back to 2012. UH has not lost on senior night since 2017.
 
INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS
  • Kansei Matsuzawa made his first two field goal attempts – both from 47 yards – and tied the FBS record of 25 consecutive field goals to start a season originally set by Washington’s Chuck Nelson in 1982.
  • In addition, Matsuzawa’s overall consecutive streak of 26 dating back to last season tied the Mountain West record of 26 set by San Diego State’s Gabriel Plasencia earlier this season.
  • Matsuzawa ultimately missed a 30-yard attempt late in the third quarter to end his perfect season and the longest active streak in the country.
  • Matsuzawa has made at least one field goal in all 12 games this year and has had multiple field goals in eight of those contests.
  • Junior linebacker Jamih Otis missed the first game of his career versus Wyoming. Otis had previously played in 36 straight games. 
  • Seniors Karsyn Pupunu and Jalen Smith each played in their 37th straight game, tied for the longest streak on the team.
 
INDIVIDUAL CHARTS/RECORDS
  • With his 19-yard touchdown toss in the first quarter, Micah Alejado set a new UH freshman single-season record of 20 TD passes, surpassing Timmy Chang (19 in the 2000 season). Alejado threw another touchdown in the second quarter to up his total to 21.
  • Kansei Matsuzawa now has 37 career field goals and surpassed Eric Hannum (36) for No. 6 on the UH charts. 
 
TEAM NOTES
  • UH notched its eighth-win this season, its most regular-season wins the 2019 squad finished with nine.
  • The Rainbow Warriors finished a program-best 5-3 in the Mountain West for just the third time in 14 seasons in the conference (also in 2018 and ‘19).
  • UH finished the regular-season 6-1 at home and has won seven of its last eight home games dating back to last season.
  • For the second straight home game and the third time this year, the UH defense held its opponent without an offensive touchdown.
  • UH set season-highs in tackles-for-loss (10) and pass breakups (7).
  • The Rainbow Warriors forced a season-high seven punts by its opponent.
  • UH has forced at least one turnover in 10 of 12 games this year.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Jackson Harris recorded his sixth 100-yard performance this season with 153 yards on four catches. The 153 receiving yards were the most by a UH player this year.
  • His 78-yard score in the second quarter was UH’s longest play from scrimmage this year and his fourth touchdown this year of 70 or more yards. 
  • Harris is the first FBS player since 2021 (Jameson Williams, Alabama) to have at least four receiving TDs of 70 or more yards in a season.
  • Harris has a team-leading 12 touchdowns this year and has scored in six of the last seven contests. 
  • Of Harris’ 12 touchdowns, seven have been for 30 yards or longer.
  • Cam Barfield set new career highs in rushing attempts (15) and yards (77).
  • Barfield  had his second multi-touchdown game this season (also vs Portland State) with a 19-yard reception in the first quarter and a 41-yard rush in the third quarter.
  • The 41-yard run was the longest of Barfield’s career and the second-longest run by a Rainbow Warrior this season.
  • Barfield now has eight overall touchdowns this season (four rush, three receiving, one kick return), which ranks second on the team.
  • Jaheim Wilson-Jones recorded his first career interception with a fourth-quarter pick of Mason Drube.
  • In the final regular-season game of his career, senior safety Peter Manuma tallied a game-high 11 tackles, one short of his career high.
  • Noah Wily recorded his first career sack with a takedown of Drube late in the game.
  • Giovoni Iovino made first start as a Rainbow Warrior in place of an injured Jamih Otis and finished with three tackles.
