SERIES INFORMATION
  • UH improved to 2-0 all-time against Northern Iowa with both meetings in Honolulu.
  • UH won the first meeting between the teams, 27-24, at Aloha Stadium, Sept. 13, 2014.
 
UH VERSUS THE FCS
  • UH picked up its second win against an FCS opponent this year. The Warriors also defeated Delaware State, 35-14 in their season opener on August 24.
  • UH has won its last 22 games against FCS teams dating back to 2001 with an average winning margin of 25.8 points per game. 
  • Under head coach Timmy Chang, UH is 4-0 against FCS opponents.
 
TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS
  • UH has won four of its last five contests at Ching Complex.

INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS
  • Brayden Schager made his 26th straight start at quarterback dating back to 2022, tying the longest such streak in school history with Bryant Moniz (2009-11). 
  • Peter Manuma owns the longest starting streak on the defensive side of the ball with 25 straight starts at safety dating back to his freshman season in 2022.
  • Pofele Ashlock has caught a pass in all 17 games of his career.
  • Ashlock has scored a touchdown now in three straight games.

TEAM NOTES
  • UH enjoyed its largest margin of victory  in 3+ seasons at Ching Complex and its largest under Timmy Chang with its 29-point win on Saturday night.
  • The 36 points is the most UH has scored under Timmy Chang, exceeding the 35 points scored in the season opener versus Delaware State.
  • The seven points allowed was the least UH has given up in a game since a 21-7 win at UNLV in 2019.
  • The 199 yards allowed was the least allowed since 2018 when UH held Duquesne to 166 yards.
  • UNI entered the game averaging 245.3 rushing yards per game and 5.9 per carry through the first three games. UH held the Panthers to 72 yards and just 3.1 yards per carry.
  • UH’s 528 yards of total offense was its second-most under Timmy Chang, only exceeded by its 541 yards versus Utah State on Nov. 12, 2022.
  • UH set season highs for points (36), total yards (528), passing yards (379), rushing yards (149) and first downs (29).
  • UH produced five pass plays of 20-yards or longer on the evening. UH entered the game having produced just six in its previous three games combined. 
  • For the first time in four games this year, UH did not surrender a sack.
  • UH had a fumble recovery for the second straight game when Jamih Otis recovered a fumble caused by C-Bo Brown on Northern Iowa’s opening drive of the game. The Warriors had another one later in the game when Deylion Freeman recovered a fumble forced by Peter Manuma in the fourth quarter.
  • UH scored on its opening drive for its second straight home game when it marched 69 yards down the field in six plays to take a 7-0 lead.
  • UH converted on its first two-point attempt of the season when running back Landon Sims found short snapper Hunter Higham in the endzone for a 2-yard connection in the first quarter.
  • UH is now 9-8 at home, including 5-4 in non-conference games, under Timmy Chang.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Brayden Schager went 35-of-43 for 374 yards and four touchdown passes on the evening.
  • The 35 completions were a new career high while the four touchdown passes tied  a career high, which he accomplished on two other occasions.
  • He is the first UH quarterback to complete 35-plus passes while completing at least 80 percent of his passes since Colt Brennan on Dec. 1, 2007 vs. Washington (42-of-50).
  • Schager had 12 straight completions for 169 yards and two touchdowns to start the game.
  • His 283 passing yards in the first half were the most by a UH QB in the first half since Cole McDonald passed for 331 yards vs. BYU in the 2019 Hawai'i Bowl.
  • Schager enjoyed his first 300-yard passing game this season and the eighth of his career.
  • Schager is the first UH quarterback to complete 35+ passes with an 80+ completion percentage since Colt Brennan vs. Washington on Dec. 1, 2007 (42-of-50).
  • Schager's 35 completions were the most by a Warrior since Sean Schroder's 37 at Wyoming on Nov. 23, 2013.
  • Nick Cenacle had a career-high nine catches (for 63 yards) and enjoyed his first-multi touchdown game with scoring catches of 20-yards and 1-yard respectively.
  • Jonah Panoke scored his first touchdown of the season and the third of his career on a 24-yard reception from Schager to cap the team’s opening drive.
  • Dekel Crowdus hauled in a 50+-yard catch for the second straight game when he caught a 59-yard bomb from Schager in the first quarter. Crowdus had a 52-yard catch last week at Sam Houston.
  • Pofele Ashlock scored for the third straight game following a 5-yard catch in the first quarter. Ashlock finished with a team-high 10  catches for 74 yards. 
  • Peter Manuma led UH in tackles for the third straight game with five tackles. He also added a forced fumble in the fourth quarter. 
  • Jamih Otis registered his second sack of the season with a takedown of Aiden Dunne on UNI’s opening drive of the game, as did Jackie Johnson III with his sack of Matthew Schecklman in the fourth quarter. 
  • True freshman Micah Alejado made his UH debut, alternating snaps with John-Keawe Sagapolutele on UH’s final possession. Alejado completed his lone passing attempt to Spencer Curtis for 5 yards.
