SERIES INFORMATION
  • The series is now tied 3-3.
  • This was the first-ever meeting in Pullman. The first four match-ups (1926, ’30, ’99, ’08) were held in Honolulu while the most recent meeting (2009) was played in Seattle.
  • Four of the six meetings have been decided by double-digits.
 
UH VERSUS THE PAC-12
  • UH has lost its last six match-ups versus Pac-12 teams. UH’s last win against a Pac-12 squad came at home versus Oregon State (2019).
  • Hawai’i has lost its last 13 true road games vs Pac-12 teams. UH’s last win vs. a Pac-12 team in a true road game was at Cal in 1994. Hawai‘i’s last road/neutral win against a Pac-12 team came against Washington State in Seattle in 2009.
  • UH is 4-17 in its last 21 games versus Pac-12 opponents since 2010. The wins have come against Arizona (2019), Colorado (2011, ’15) and Oregon State (2019).
 
TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS
  • The Rainbow Warriors have lost six straight and 13 of their last 14 games on the road vs.
  • non-conference opponents.
  • UH is 1-14 on the road under Timmy Chang, including 0-3 this season.
  • Hawai‘i has dropped its last 14 games on national television and 17 of its last 18 dating back to the start of the 2021 season.
 
INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS
  • Brayden Schager extended his school-record streak of 29 straight starts at quarterback, a streak that dates back to 2022.
  • Schager has thrown a touchdown pass in 28 of the last 29 games, including 11 straight.
  • Sophomore receiver Pofele Ashlock, the team’s leading pass catcher, missed the first game of his career, after playing in 19 straight contests dating back to last year.
 
TEAM NOTES
  • Under head coach Timmy Chang, UH is 0-14 when scoring 17 points or fewer compared to 10-9 when scoring more than 17 points.
  • UH allowed a season-high 42 points to the Cougars while also suffering its largest margin of defeat this year. It marked just the second time in seven games this year that UH gave up more than 30 points.
  • UH has allowed an average of 33.3 points in three road contests as opposed to 16.3 points in four home games.
  • UH had a season-low four penalties for 30 yards, less than half of its season average.
  • UH set season lows in passing yards (196), pass attempts (30) and total plays (52).
  • UH tied its season-high for turnovers with three (also versus UCLA).
  • After losing just one fumble through the first six games, UH lost two fumbles versus the Cougars.
  • UH scored on its opening drive for the third time in seven games this year when Kansei Matsuzawa converted on a 25-yard field goal.
  • A total of 10 different players caught a pass, including the first career catch by freshman Tama Uiliata. Uiliata caught a 10-yard pass in the opening quarter after getting the starting nod for Pofele Ashlock.
  • UH finished with three sacks and has had multiple sacks in five of seven contests.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Tylan Hines tallied a touchdown reception for the third straight game with a 17-yard catch on UH’s opening drive of the second half.
  • Brayden Schager’s pass to Hines put Schager in a tie for fifth all-time with Chevan Cordeiro and Michael Carter for touchdowns responsible for (58) at UH.
  • Schager also moved into sole possession of fourth all-time at UH with 33 starts at quarterback, one behind Michael Carter (34).
  • Kansei Matsuzawa converted on his sixth field goal this year when he connected on a 25-yarder on UH’s opening drive. He missed on a 28-yard attempt on the next drive, his first miss in five attempts this year inside 30 yards.
  • UH had two of its three longest runs this year. Christian Vaughn’s career-long 30-yard rush in the fourth is the team’s longest this season. Cam Barfield had a 21-yarder earlier in the game.
  • Jackie Johnson III recorded his team-leading fourth sack of the season on the final play of the first half.
