SERIES INFORMATION
  • Wyoming retained possession of the Paniolo Trophy with its second straight win over UH and its third in the last four meetings.
  • Wyoming holds a 17-11 overall advantage in the series, including an 9-4 advantage in Laramie.
  • The teams have played eight times in Mountain West play with the Cowboys winning five of those games. Wyoming’s win marked the first time a team has won consecutive games in the series since the start of their MW rivalry.
 
UH IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST
  • Hawai‘i is now 30-65 (.319) all-time in the Mountain West — including 13-34 on the road. 
 
TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS 
  • UH has dropped 11 of its last 12 road games dating back to last season.
  • UH has been shutout in the first quarter in six of the last eight games.
  • The UH offense turned the ball over for the first time in three games with a pair of interceptions.
  • UH has committed at least one turnover in 10 of 12 games this year.
  • Despite losing the turnover battle, UH still holds a 7-3 advantage in turnovers the last three games.
 
INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS 
  • Brayden Schager made his 21st consecutive start.
  • Schager has thrown at least one touchdown in 19 of the last 20 games.
 
TEAM NOTES
  • UH’s 35-point halftime deficit was its largest since being down 42-0 in last season’s loss at nationally-ranked Michigan. 
  • UH was shutout in the first half for the second time this season (also vs. San Jose State).
  • The 35-first half points were the most by a UH opponent this year.
  • UH had four sacks on Saturday, tied for its second highest total this season. The Warriors have 10 sacks combined in their last two road games. 
  • UH held Wyoming to 0-of-6 on third-down conversions.
  • At least eight different players have caught a pass in nine of UH’s 12 games this season after the Warriors had 10 different pass catchers Saturday.
  • UH went on its longest drive in duration this season on its second possession with a 13-play, 73-yard drive that ate up 7:55 of clock. UH, however, was stopped on a 4th-and-goal from the 2-yard line to end the drive.
  • David Cordero and Brayden Schager finished with 13 rushing attempts each which marked career highs for both and the most individual single-game rushing attempts this season for the Rainbow Warriors.
  • John Michael Gyllenborg’s 89-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter was the longest play from scrimmage by a UH opponent this year and is tied for the fifth-longest reception ever by a UH opponent.
  • Andrew Peasley’s 319 passing yards were the most by a UH opponent this year and marked the first time this year an opponent threw for better than 300 yards.
  • Wyoming averaged 9.4 yards per play, the highest average by a UH opponent this year.
  • Wyoming did not commit a single penalty during the game.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • After finishing with 278 passing yards Brayden Schager became the seventh UH quarterback to reach 6,000 career passing yards.
  • Schager now has 6,185 yards and surpassed Dan Robinson (6,038) and Chevan Cordeiro (6,167) for fifth on the all-time passing charts.
  • Schager now has 3,222 passing yards for the season. It marks the 13th time a UH quarterback eclipsed that milestone.
  • Schager also climbed up the total offense career chart, moving past Robinson, Raphel Cherry, Michael Carter and Garrett Gabriel, into 6th all-time with 6,196 total yards.
  • With 40 career passing touchdowns, Schager is now tied for seventh all-time in the category with Nick Rolovich.
  • Steven McBride led UH with five catches for 105 yards. It marked his third 100-yard receiving game this season.
  • McBride leads UH with 942 receiving yards and is just 58 yards shy for 1,000 this season.
  • McBride hauled in a 58-yard catch in the second quarter for his sixth catch this season of 50 or more yards. McBride entered the game tied for third nationally in 50+ yard catches.
  • Sophomore receiver Chuuky Hines scored his first career touchdown on a 19-yard catch in the third quarter.
  • Justin Sinclair had his first career forced and recovered fumble in the third quarter. That turnover helped set up UH’s first score of the game.  Sinclair also co-led the team with five tackles.
  • With his 30-yard field goal in the third quarter, Matthew Shipley improved to 37-of-40 (.925) for his career from inside of 40 yards.
  • Dean Briski was in on his first career sack with a fourth-quarter sack of Andrew Peasley.
