SERIES INFORMATION
  • San Jose State retains the Dick Tomey Legacy Trophy with its third straight win over the Rainbow Warriors.
  • The series is now tied 22-22-1.
  • UH had a three-game win streak at CEFCU Stadium snapped. The Warriors last loss in San Jose came in 2011.
  • The home team won for just the third time in the last 10 meetings and fifth time in the last 15 meetings.
 
UH IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST
  • Hawai‘i is now 28-60 (.318) all-time in the Mountain West — including 12-30 on the road.
  • Since the conference moved to two divisions in 2013, UH is 16-29 against the West.

TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS 
  • UH finished the season 0-6 on the road this year, including 0-4 in Mountain West play.
  • The last time UH went winless on the road was in 2015 (also 0-6).
  • UH finished the season 0-6 when trailing after the first quarter, 1-8 after trailing at half and 0-8 after trailing going into the fourth quarter.
  • UH had four turnover-free games this year and went 0-4 in those games.
  • UH won the opening coin toss for the second straight game. The Warriors received the opening kickoff in 12 of 13 games this season.
 
INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS 
  • Blessman Ta‘ala did not miss a game since arriving at UH in 2018, playing in 64 consecutive games during his five-year career.
  • Ilm Manning started 60 of 62 career games and 27 straight games dating back to 2020 to close his career.

TEAM NOTES
  • UH finished the year 3-10 for its first 10-loss season since 2015 (3-10). UH has five 10-loss seasons in program history.
  • UH rushed for a season low 43 yards (previously 84 at Colorado State).
  • UH was shutout in the third quarter in seven of 13 games this year.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Logan Taylor finished with a team-high 13 tackles and is the first player since Jacob Espiau in 2001 to record six straight games with double-digit tackles.
  • Taylor finished as the team’s leading tackler (85) despite only joining the full time rotation in the second half of the season.
  • Virdel Edwards picked off Chevan Cordeiro in the second quarter for just the fourth interception of Cordeiro’s season. It was Edwards’s third interception this year, tied for the team lead (Malik Hausman).
  • In his final game after 64 career games with the Rainbow Warriors, Blessman Ta‘ala finished with a career-best seven tackles.
  • Steven Fiso scored his first touchdown of the season and the third of his career on a 22-yard catch in the fourth quarter.
  • Brayden Schager finished the season with 13 touchdown passes and threw at least one touchdown pass in each of the last nine games.
  • Schager’s 25 completions against the Spartans (25-of-45) tied a career high.
  • Matthew Shipley went 2-of-3 on field goals to finish the year 16-of-20 on the year.
  • With 42 career field goals, Shipley ranks fifth all-time at UH, just behind Tyler Hadden (43) and Dan Kelly (45)
  • John Tuitupou recorded UH’s lone sack of the game. He finished the year with a team-leading 3.5 sacks.
