Since high school, Timmy has always been successful. He’s smart, not just on the field but outside of football. To be successful, the head coach has to rally the community and Timmy is the perfect guy to do that. He has the ability to get people behind the program. But he can’t do it by himself and people will need to support him.

Timmy is a major reason for me wanting to play for the University of Hawai‘i. I followed his senior year at Saint Louis while living in Virginia. He threw 60+ TDs and was heading to UH. Hawai‘i was my final official visit and Timmy was my host. Best visit ever. He didn’t hype anything up but let me know how special things were at UH and how even more special things were going to be in the near future.

Having Tim as my quarterback in college was such a luxury. Once we found that chemistry it was unstoppable! I feel he brings a unique ability to this program. Once that chemistry is established here again, watch out!

LOVE this hire. Timmy Chang & the Warriors once saved my sanity. My daughter was born fall '04 and refused to sleep. The only thing that kept me alive was ESPN GamePlan showing @HawaiiFootball at 3 AM ET & watching Timmy hang 400/5 on some poor fools while my child kept crying.

I am pleased to see Coach Timmy Chang selected as the next Rainbow Warrior Head Football Coach. It’s time for the next generation to lead our program forward and ensure our young men can compete at the highest level and bring pride to our university and state. As an alumni player he brings a winning spirit back to our football program. I am looking forward to the Braddahhood rising again.
