SERIES INFORMATION
  • Boise State leads the all-time series 13-3. The Broncos have won the last seven meetings dating back to 2008.
  • BSU has won all seven meetings in Boise.
  • The 22-point margin was the closest margin in the last six meetings.
  • After winning the first two games of the series in 1996 (20-14) and ’97 (34-19), UH has since lost 13 of 14 with its only win a 39-27 victory in Honolulu in 2007.
 
STREAKS/TRENDS
  • UH is 0-2 this year against ranked teams and has lost its last 12 games to nationally ranked teams. UH’s last win over a nationally ranked foe was against No. 19 Nevada in 2010 at Aloha Stadium.
  • UH is 1-18 all-time against nationally ranked teams on the road with its only victory against No. 22 Fresno State in 2008. Since then, UH has lost its last seven games.
  • UH is tied with Auburn for the longest streak in the country at 136 games without allowing a punt block. Hawai‘i last had a punt blocked by Notre Dame in 2008.
 
TEAM NOTES
  • Boise State’s 59 points were the most by an opponent this year while the Bronco’s 533 yards were the second most (539 by Arizona).
  • UH committed a season-high 10 penalties for 88 yards. Nine of those penalties (74 yards) came in the first half alone.
  • Chevan Cordeiro’s 50-yard connection to Nick Mardner in the fourth quarter was UH’s longest pass play this season.
  • John Hightower’s 141 yards receiving were the most by a UH opponent this year.
  • Head coach Nick Rolovich dropped to 3-7 versus the MW’s Mountain Division.
  • UH is 8-14 in road/neutral games under Rolovich, including a 7-7 mark in Mountain West road games.
  • The Warriors are 5-6 in their last 11 national TV games dating back to last season. Prior to 2018, UH was 2-36 in their previous 38 nationally-televised games.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • With 251 passing and 54 rushing yards, Cole McDonald moved past Garrett Gabriel on the school’s all-time passing yardage and total offense lists. McDonald now stands at fifth all-time in passing (5,777) and fourth all-time in total offense (6,429).
  • McDonald threw for three touchdown passes and has thrown for at least one touchdown in 18 of 19 games dating back to last season.
  • McDonald scored his first rushing touchdown this year and sixth of his career with a 17-yard scamper in the third quarter.
  • Melquise Stovall scored a pair of touchdowns – his first two career touchdown as a Rainbow Warrior. His first was on a 21-yard scoring strike from McDonald late in the second quarter and his second on a 3-yard catch in the fourth quarter.
  • Stovall finished with a team-high eight catches for 114 yards, both season highs for the junior college transfer.
  • Stovall is the fifth different UH receiver to crack 100 yards in a game this season.
  • Redshirt freshman Nick Mardner’s first career catch went for touchdown on a 50-yard connection with Chevan Cordeiro in the fourth quarter. 
  • True freshman Lincoln Victor scored his second touchdown this season with a 17-yard catch from McDonald in the first quarter.
  • Senior lineman Kohl Levao played for the first time this season, earning the start at right guard. He’s the fourth different player in as many games to start at right guard for UH.
  • Senior Manly Williams got his first start of the season and finished with two tackles and a fumble recovery.
