SERIES INFORMATION
  • Utah State leads the series 10-6 and improved to 5-4 against UH in Honolulu.
  • The Aggies have won five straight in the series, including all four Mountain West meetings. UH’s last win came during the 2010 season in Logan when the teams were members of the Western Athletic Conference.
  • Fourteen of the 16 all-time meetings have been decided by double-digits.
 
STREAKS/TRENDS
  • UH has lost to Utah State five straight times.
  • UH has lost 10 straight games to nationally ranked teams.
  • In its last eight games, the Rainbow Warriors trailed at the half six times, led once and were tied once.
  • John Ursua has caught at least one pass in 28 straight games.

TEAM NOTES
  • UH surrendered a season high in points (56) and rushing yards (426).
  • UH’s 17 points is tied for its lowest output this year (also vs. Wyoming).
  • Utah State’s 426 rushing yards were the most by a UH opponent since Air Force rushed for 496 in 2015.   
  • UH allowed two 100-yard rushers for the first time since San Diego State in 2016.
  • The 39-point margin of defeat was tied for the fourth largest in a conference home game.
  • The 56 points were the most surrendered at home since a 58-7 loss to Air Force in 2015.
  • UH dropped to 10-43 all-time versus nationally ranked teams, including 9-26 at home. The Warriors have lost their last 10 games versus nationally ranked teams with their last win against No. 19 Nevada, Oct. 16, 2010 at Aloha Stadium.
  • Under Nick Rolovich, UH is 0-3 versus nationally ranked teams with losses also to No. 7 Michigan (66-3) and No. 24 Boise State (52-16) during his inaugural 2016 season.
  • UH’s 28-3 halftime deficit was its largest at home since trailing to Boise State 35-3 during Nick Rolovich’s inaugural season in 2016.
  
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
 
  • Cole McDonald cracked 3,000 passing yards for the season with a 14-yard completion late in the first half. He is just the sixth UH quarterback to hit the season milestone.
  • McDonald finished with 331 yards passing, his sixth 300-yard passing game this season.
  • McDonald had his first game with multiple interceptions after throwing a pair of first-half picks.
  • John Ursua finished with three catches for 78 yards and one touchdown, his 15th of the season.
  • Ursua now has a touchdown reception in  9-of-11 games this season.
  • With three receptions, the junior cracked the career top 10 at UH in that category and now ranks No. 9 with 179 catches.  
  • Devan Stubblefield scored for the second straight week with a 38-yard reception in the third quarter. Stubblefield’s touchdown was the sixth of his career.
  • Ryan Meskell nailed his second field goal of over 40 yards in as many weeks when he converted on a 41-yarder in the first quarter. Meskell is 12-of-15 on field goals this year.
  • Marcus Armstrong-Brown had four catches for a career-high 85 yards. He hauled in a career-long 42 yard catch from Cole McDonald on UH’s first play from scrimmage.
  • Kendall Hune recorded his first career block when he stuffed Dominik Eberle’s 28-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter. It was UH’s third field goal block this year.
  • Cedric Byrd caught a 51-yard pass in the second quarter, his third catch of 50 or more yards this year.
  • True freshman quarterback Jeremy Moussa saw action for the second straight week and finished 1-of-3 for 16 yards.
  • With nine tackles, freshman defensive back Khoury Bethley led the team in tackles for the second straight week.
