SERIES INFORMATION
  • BYU leads the series 22-8. BYU leads the series 13-8 in Honolulu.
  • BYU has won the last four meetings and 10 the last 11. UH’s last win in the series came in 2001.
  • Eight of the last nine meetings have been decided by double-digits.
  • The teams will meet again next year in Provo. BYU and Hawai‘i have also have just extended the series with a home-and-home arrangement in 2024 and ’25.

STREAKS/TRENDS
  • UH saw its streak of eight straight non-conference home wins come to an end. Its last non-conference home loss came against Oregon State (30-38) in 2014.
  • UH saw its streak of five straight Senior Night wins come to a close. Its last Senior Night loss was against BYU in 2011.
  • UH lost nine of its last 10 games of the season and have failed to score more than 23 points in those losses.
  • UH did not score on an opening drive this season.
  • UH trailed or was tied after the first quarter in 10 of 12 games this season and were 2-8 in those games.
  • UH finished 0-5 on national TV this season and are 2-36 in its last 38 national TV games.
 

TEAM NOTES
  • UH finished the season 3-9, it’s seventh straight non-winning season and ninth in the last 10 years.
  • UH finished with a season-low 28 rushing yards.
  • BYU’s touchdown drive that bridged the first and second quarters was the longest by a UH opponent this season in plays and duration (16 plays, 8:05).
  • A total of 20 seniors participated in the traditional “Senior Walk” ceremony at the conclusion of the game
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • With 39 rushing yards, Diocemy Saint Juste set a new single-season rushing record with 1,510 yards, breaking the old mark of 1,498 by Travis Sims in 1992. Saint Juste set the mark with a 14-yard gain during UH’s final drive of the game.
  • Saint Juste finished with 3,102 career rushing yards, second behind all-time leading rusher Gary Allen (3,451). Saint Juste and Allen are the only UH rushers to amass 3,000 yards in a career.
  • Saint Juste finished with eighth 100-yard games this season the second most for a season, behind Travis Sim’s nine in 1992.
  • His 13 career 100-yard games is also second-most in UH history. Gary Allen holds the record with 15 such games.
  • Saint Juste recorded a career-high eight receptions vs. BYU, racking up 39 yards.
  • Junior wide receiver finished with six receptions for 103 yards. It was his third 100-yard game of the season and the fourth of his career.
  • Senior wide receiver Ammon Barker scored his first touchdown of the season and the second of his career with a 15-yard catch from Dru Brown in the fourth quarter.
  • Sophomore linebacker Solomon Matautia scored his second defensive touchdown in as many home games when he returned a fumble 42 yards in the first quarter. Matautia also scored on an interception return vs. Fresno State.  
  • It was UH’s first fumble return for a score since Beau Yap recovered a fumble in the end zone vs. Northern Iowa in 2014.
  • Junior wide receiver Devan Stubblefied made his first catch of the season and first since the 2015 season with a seven-yard gain in the second quarter.
  • Kumoku Noa scored his second career touchdown on a 3-yd catch in the fourth quarter.
  • Jahlani Tavai finished with a team-high 13 tackles and posted at least 10 tackles in nine games this season.
  • Tavai finished the year with 124 tackles on the year, his second straight season with more than 100 tackles.
  • With 309 career tackles, he is eighth all-time in the category at UH, surpassing Thadius Jefferson (298).
