SERIES INFORMATION: Hawai‘i and New Mexico met for the 23rd time and seventh time in Albuquerque—with the loss, UNM trims UH’s series lead 14-9 and the Lobos take a  4-3 lead in Albuquerque
            UNM extends its win streak in the series to six (6) games.—With the loss, the Hawai‘i program record drops to 536-432-25 (.552), and 89-156-3 (.365)                 on the road.
With the loss, the Hawai‘i overall Mountain West record drops to 4-23 (.148), all under head coach Norm Chow.
Moving to 2-5 on the season, UH last opened 2-5 in 2014 and 2009 prior to that..
—The Hawai‘i road losing streak extends to five (5) games, and the Rainbow Warriors are 1-21 on the road under Norm Chow.
 
Team Notes:
  • Hawai‘i scored on its opening drive for the first time since the season opener against Colorado on Sept. 3, marking UH’s first road score of the season.
  • New Mexico countered with a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown by Carlos Wiggins, the first return TD since Southern Cal’s Marquis Lee brought one back 100 yards on Sept 1, 2012., Chow’s first season.
  • Rigoberto Sanchez’ first quarter 49-yard field goal was a career long, tying his career-longest attempt.
    • The successful field goal was the longest since Tyler Hadden hit one from 49 in 2012 at Fresno State.
    • His 47-yarder early in the fourth quarter also topped his previous career long.
    • The missed 22-yarder in the closing moments of the fourth quarter was only his second loss of the year.
  • Ending the first quarter with 10 points was a season-high for first quarter UH scoring in 2015.
    • With Ikaika Woolsey’s second quarter touchdown pass to Dylan Collie, UH scoring moved to 24 points, the most in the first half for UH this season.
  • Scoring a touchdown in the third quarter, UNM expanded UH’s third quarter scoring allowed to 23 points, a 3.3 PPG average allowed in the third quarter.
  • Slot receiver Dylan Collie set new career highs in receptions 7 and receiving yards 113 yards, with a career-best long of 46, leading all UH receivers.
  • With his second rushing touchdown in the second quarter, Paul Harris became the second UH back to score two (2) TDs in a game, previously only Melvin Davis vs. UC Davis.
  • With his first rush of the second half, Paul Harris went over 100 yards for the second time this season, previously vs. UC Davis.
  • Quarterback Ikaika Woolsey made his first start since Nov. 29, 2014 at Fresno State, his first of the season.
    • Regular starter Max Wittek did not dress for game due to injury.
  • Wide Receiver Isaiah Bernard made his first career start at Wide receiver in the absence of Quinton Pedroza, he caught 3 passes for 62 yards.
  • UH opened in a jumbo formation and tackle Leo Koloamatangi started as a sixth offensive lineman.
  • On defense, two new players made their first starts, defensive end Meffy Koloamatangi and safety Dany Mulanga.
