Post-Game Notes
Wyoming at Hawai‘i
Oct. 11, 2014

  • Hawai`i reclaimed possession of the Paniolo Trophy, given to the winning team since the trophy’s inception in 1979. Wyoming had held the trophy since 1993 which included six straight victories when the schools overlapped between membership of the Western Athletic Conference and Mountain West.
  • UH picked up its first win over Wyoming since a 1992 home win (42-18) orchestrated by tonight’s honorary captain Michael Carter.
  • UH snapped an eight-game conference losing streak with its last Mountain West win coming against UNLV in 2012.
  • UH is now 2-7 in conference homes games under head coach Norm Chow. The win stopped UH’s four-game home conference game losing streak.
  • UH posted back-to-back home wins for the first time since defeating UNLV and South Alabama to conclude the 2012 campaign.
  • The UH offense scored a season-high 38 points and racked up a season-high 513 yards of total offense (232 rush, 281 pass). It was the most total yards since UH racked up 608 in a win over Army in last year’s season finale.
  • Four players scored their first career touchdowns: Quinton Pedroza (2), Keelan Ewaliko (1), Marcus Kemp and Diocemy Saint Juste
  • Senior quarterback Taylor Graham made his first start of the season and fourth of his career.  Graham finished 9-of-17 for 108 yards and one touchdown before being sidelined with a foot injury at the end of the first half.
  • Diocemy Saint Juste rushed for a career high 135 yards on 17 carries. Saint Juste became the third UH running back to rush for better than 100 yards in a game this season, joining Joey Iosefa and Steven Lakalaka. Saint Juste scored his first career TD on a 16-yd run to cap the UH scoring.
  • Junior wide receiver Ryan Pasoquen and freshman cornerback Nick Nelson made their first career starts. Nelson finished with six tackles and a team-high three break-ups.
  • Benetton Fonua made his first start of the season. Fonua finished with a team-high eight tackles.
  • Scott Harding booted a career-long 66 yard punt in the second quarter. His previous long was 64 yards versus Northern Iowa earlier this year.

  • Tyler Hadden nailed a 35-yd field goal in the first quarter and has converted 10 of his last 11 field goal attempts.
  • Trayvon Henderson recorded his first career sack with a first-quarter takedown of Colby Kirkegaard. He also added his first two interceptions of the season, giving him five for his career.
  • Quinton Pedroza scored his first career touchdown as a Rainbow Warrior with a 16-yard catch from Taylor Graham in the second quarter. He followed that up with a 53-yard touchdown from Ikaika Woolsey on the final play of the third quarter.
  • The 53-yard touchdown was the longest pass play of the season for UH.
  • Pedroza finished with a career high 118 yards receiving on seven catches.
  • The UH defense held Wyoming to just 93 yards in the second half.
