Post-Game Notes
Hawai‘i at Navy
Nov. 9, 2013

Navy picked up its first-ever win over Hawai‘i. UH won the previous two meetings in Honolulu (1999, 2009).

UH has lost 12 straight road games dating back to 2011.

The last time UH started a season 0-9 was during the winless campaign of 1998 (0-12).

The nine-game losing streak is the second longest in school history.

UH is one of five remaining winless teams in the FBS this season.

Joey Iosefa saw action in just his second game this year and first time since UH’s third game of the year at Nevada (Sept. 21).

Iosefa tied a school record with 35 carries, a record also held by Jamaal Farmer (1989 vs. Air Force) and Nuu Faaola (1985 vs. San Diego State).

Iosefa finished with his second career 100-yard game, rushing for 191 yards, the highest total since Alex Green’s school-record 327 yards in 2010.

Senior quarterback Sean Schroeder set a new completion percentage record with a minimum of 30 attempts, completing 29-of-33 of his passes (.879). The previous record was held by Colt Brennan (35-of-40, .850) vs. Northern Colorado in 2007.

UH went on a 99-yard scoring drive spanning the third and fourth-quarter, the longest drive of the season.

UH out-gained its second opponent this year (also at Nevada) with its second-highest yardage total of the season (464).

Keenan Reynolds 226 yards rushing versus UH were the most by an opponent since Wendell Mathis of Fresno State recorded 229 yards in 2005. Reynolds is the fourth straight UH opponent to rush for at least 100 yards in a game.
.
Senior wide receiver Billy Ray Stutzmann extended his streak to 29 straight games with a reception following his 18-yard catch in the second quarter. Stutzmann finished with four catches for 41 yards.

Keith Kirkwood scored his fourth touchdown this year on a 40-yard catch from Sean Schroeder in the second quarter. His four TD receptions this year have averaged 39 yards in length.

Clarke Evans set a career high with nine catches—including touchdown catches of 8- and 6-yards.

Freshman Trayvon Henderson  made his first career start at safety. Henderson, who leads UH with three interceptions, finished with six tackles.

John Hardy-Tuliau tied a career-high with 10 tackles, which included a sack and two tackles-for loss.

Tavita Woodard and Scott Harding served as team captains during the coin toss.

The game marked the first-ever meeting between head coaches of Polynesian descent—Ken Niumatalolo (Samoan) and Norm Chow (Hawaiian).
