Hawai‘i vs. Colorado

- Hawai‘i ended a streak of six straight season-opening losses to BCS conference teams dating back to 1998. The last season opening win over a BCS squad was 1997 versus Minnesota (17-3).
-UH has won seven straight regular-season home games dating back to last year.
- UH improved to 20-16 in home openers at Aloha Stadium.
- Hawai‘i improved to 58-32-5 all-time in season openers and 62-28-5 (.676) all-time in home openers.
-UH improved to 29-51 all-time vs. current members of the Pac-12 conference, including a 2-1 mark against Colorado.
- UH has played at least one Pac-12 opponent each year since 2005, with a 4-3 record in home games.
-This was the second straight year that the Warriors shutout the Buffaloes in the first half. UH led 10-0 last year at half in Boulder and 17-0 this year in Honolulu.
-UH’s last halftime shutout came in a 27-21 home win over Nevada last October.
-Senior quarterback Bryant Moniz rushed for a career-high 121 yards and three touchdowns
-The 121 yards were the most rushing yards by a UH quarterback since Glenn Freitas rushed for 122 yards and four touchdowns versus UTEP in 1995.
-The three rushing touchdowns by Moniz were the most by a UH quarterback since Colt Brennan’s three at UNLV in 2007.
-The 57-yard touchdown run by Moniz in the second quarter was the longest rush of his career.
-Moniz passed for 178 yards, ending a streak of four straight 300-yard games dating back to last year.
-Making their first career starts on offense for UH were running back Joey Iosefa, receivers Jeremiah Ostrowski, and Allen Sampson and the entire offensive line of Sean Shigematsu, Andrew Faaumu, Sila Lefiti, Brett Leonard and Clayton Laurel.
-First time defensive starters were defensive lineman Zach Masch, linebacker Art Laurel and cornerback Mike Edwards
- Senior placekicker Kenton Chun made good on his first career kick when he connected on a 38-yarder in the first quarter.
-Freshman running back scored his first career touchdown on a 22-yard reception in the fourth quarter.
