UH remained winless against USC (0-7) and is now 15-35 all-time vs. current members of the Pac- 10 conference.
 
UH had won its last two home games against Pac-10 opponents (def. WashingtonState, 24-10 in 2008 and def. Washington, 35-28 in 2007).
 
Greg Salas has caught a pass in 28 straight games dating back to his sophomore season, the fourth longest active streak in the country.
 
With eight catches for 124 yards, Salas recorded his 10th game with 100-yards or more receiving
 
Kealoha Pilares finished with a career high 176 yards receiving and three touchdowns catches. The last player to have that many scoring catches was Jason Rivers (four tds vs. Washington, 2007). Pilares 56-yard and 65-yard touchdown catches were the longest receptions of his career.
 
Sophomore receiver Royce Pollard finished with career highs in catches (7) and yards (106).
 
The last time three receivers finished over 100 yards was at UNLV last season (Pilares, Salas and Rodney Bradley).
 
Ronald Johnson’s 89-yard punt return was the first punt return touchdown allowed by UH since the 2008 opener at Florida. It was also the second-longest punt return ever by a UH opponent.
 
Alex Green scored his third career touchdown in the third quarter with a 1-yard plunge.
 
UH did not commit a single turnover, ending a streak of 37 straight games without a turnover. The last time that UH went turnover-free in a game was at UNLV on Sept. 15, 2007.
 
Making their first career starts for UH were Bronson Tiwanak (center), Kamalu Umu (defensive end), Paipai Falemalu (linebacker) and George Daily-Lyles (linebacker)
 
UH fell to 9-33 all-time versus (AP) nationally-ranked teams, including a 8-21 mark at Aloha Stadium. UH’s last win over a ranked team came on the road against FresnoState in 2008.
 
UH dropped to 16-36-2 all-time on national television, including a 12-27-2 mark at Aloha Stadium. UH made three national television appearances last season with a win against Navy (ESPNU) and losses to Louisiana Tech (ESPN2) and Wisconsin (ESPN2).
 
UH dropped to 19-16 in home openers at Aloha Stadium.
 
Hawai‘i dropped to 57-32-5 all-time in season openers and 61-28-5 all-time in home openers.
