No. 1 Seed Aggies Moves On To Title Match

HONOLULU, Hawaii - Top-seeded New Mexico State swept through No. 5 San Jose State 25-18, 25-22, 25-18 in the semifinals of the WAC Volleyball Tournament at the Stan Sheriff Center Friday night. The Aggies now advance to the championship match on Sunday. 

The Aggies topped the Spartans in hitting percentage (.321-.179), kills (50-33), assists (47-32), service aces (4-3), digs (53-44) and blocks (10-5). 

New Mexico State was led by Lindsey Yon with 15 kills and eight digs. Amber Simpson added 14 kills on .619 hitting to go along with six blocks. Krystal Torres posted a match-high 16 digs, while Krista Altermatt had 14. 

Kelly Crow led San Jose State with 10 kills, while Kristal Tsukano finished with 13 digs.
