WAC Tournament Quotes - Game 5

2008 WAC Volleyball Tournament
Nov. 20, 2008
No. 2 Hawai`i vs. No. 7 BoiseState

QUOTE SHEET

Boise State head coach Robin Davis

“The first set wasn’t good. We felt like there wasn’t enough communication and enough talk. The fought was good in games two and three. We loved being up 11-1 in set three against a team like that. We took advantage in those two games. We felt like our middles did a better job on this time. I thought we had a shot.”

“You don’t want to face Hawai`i at Hawai`i. We knew they would be ready and they wouldn’t overlook us. They are powerful and they can take anyone down on a certain night. I think they can go a long way in the tournament.”

“Our lack of defense hurt us the most and our serve receive. Hawai`i can serve pretty tough. They are a good serving team.”

Hawai`i head coach Dave Shoji

“I thought we played really well except the start of game three. I thought Stephanie did a great job of stepping in and getting the offense going. The main thing was to spend as little energy as we could and get ready for tomorrow night.”

“Amber is always a threat, so they can’t load up on the left side. We set the back row that can be effective as well.”

“I thought our passing was a little loose in the first set. Idaho is a good serving team, so we will have to pass better. They are big up front and block good as well.”

Hawai`i libero Tara Hittle
“I didn’t think my serve was that difficult tonight I just kept serving my spots and followed the game plan. It seemed like everything was going their way early in game three. We felt we could come back. We just kept working hard. I think it’s always a plus to play at home. We feel comfortable on the court and the fan support is great.”

Hawai`i setter Stephanie Brandt
“It was fun. It as a flashback to last year. We got pumped up when we start to come back in the third game, maybe a little too exciting.”
