Women's Tennis Set To Host Bucknell Twice

HONOLULU--The 48th-ranked University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (4-4, 2-0 Big West) will host a pair of dual matches against Bucknell (6-6, 0-2 Patriot League). The Rainbow Wahine and Bison will square off on Sunday, March 8th at 1:00 p.m. HT then again on Wednesday. March 11th at 4:00 p.m. HT. Both matches will be played at the UH Tennis Complex.

#48 HAWAI'I RAINBOW WAHINE (4-4, 2-0 Big West)University of Hawaii Logo• The Rainbow Wahine are coming off arguably its biggest win of the season, defeating #51 Long Beach State in their Big West home opener. The Beach edged out the 'Bows to capture the doubles point, but then UH rolled in singles, winning the first five matches--culminating in UH's No. 5 Hannah Galindo's .7-5, 7-5 win over Pamela Badillo that clinched the win. Hawai'i has now defeated LBSU the last three-sraight times. 
Freshman Grete Gull was the lone Rainbow Wahne to win both her singles and doubles matches against Long Beach State. On the No. 1 singles court, Gull dominated in her third set to defeat Cecillia Costa, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. In doubles, Gull and partner Sophie Rachor won their No. 1 doubles match, 6-3 over Paulina Franco and Costa. 
Junior Hannah Galindo continues to pace the Rainbow Wahine, with a team-best 6-2 singles record playing primarily in the No. 5 slot. 
Senior Allaire Berl comes into the week with the second-most singles wins, with a 4-3 overall record playing mostly at No. 6.
In doubles, both Makeilah Nepomuceno /Galindo and Sophie Rachor and Gull both come into the matches with Bucknell with three wins apiece.
