KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team finished the final round of the Amer Ari Intercollegiate with a 291 Saturday at Mauna Lani Resort's North Course.
The Rainbow Warriors completed the three-day event with an 874 total and 20
th place finish.
Fifth-ranked Auburn went wire-to-wire to capture its first Amer Ari title with a 77-under 787 total after a final round 258. Texas finished runner-up at 800 followed by Arizona State (806), Texas Tech (807), and Stanford (808).
Individually, Auburn's Jackson Koivun captured medalist honors at 25-under 191 while teammate Cayden Pope was five shots back to finished in second place at 196.
Nathan Szpakowicz and
James Whitworth were UH's top finishers at 2-over 218 and a tie for 90
th place. Szpakowicz posted a final round 1-under 71 while Whitworth carded 74.
Dane Watanabe also posted 74 and finished at 4-over 220 and 97
th place.
Also competing for the Rainbow Warriors were

Chris Salem (72=224, t-108
th) while
Cameron Combado (80=236, 120
th) and
Quinn Murray (78=240, 121
st) competed as individuals.
The Rainbow Warriors will next host the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, Thursday, Feb. 12 through Saturday, Feb. 14 at Ocean Course at Hokuala. The 49
th annual event is the seventh-longest collegiate tournament in the country.
