Men's and Women's Tennis Teams Both Enter ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz.--Both the University of Hawai'i men's and women's tennis teams made their 2026 debuts in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's rankings on Thursday. 

The Rainbow Warriors went 2-1 last week on the road, recording back-to-back sweeps for the first time since 2023. Last week, the 'Bows swept UC Riverside to open the Big West season, 4-0, then defeated Northern Arizona 4-0 in Phoenix, Ariz.. The men's team enter this wee with a 4-4 record. Next up for UH is another roadtrip which starts with a single match at Pacific in Stockton, Calif., before the 'Bows compete in the Golden State Invitational where they will take on Saint Mary's (CA), Sacramento State and Nevada. The last time the Rainbow Warriors were ranked was on April 22, 2022 at No. 72.

The Rainbow Wahine enter the week with a 3-4 record after going 1-2 last week on the road  as they faced three teams in San Diego. Their most recent win came in their Big West opener at UC San Diego. Against the Tritons, UH was trailing 1-3, before mounting an epic comeback, winning their last three singles matches for the 4-3 victory. The Rainbow Wahine return home to take on Long Beach State on Saturday, Feb. 28th in their Big West home opener. The last time the Rainbow Wahine were in the rankings was last year when they entered the poll at No. 70 on March 25, 2025.

The last time both the men's and women's teams were ranked at the same time was on March 24, 2022.
