As the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa comes alive with homecoming festivities, UH Athletics is rolling out Giving Week, a spirited initiative running September 6–13 to inspire the community to support student-athletes through the campaign: Our Team. Hawaiʻi's Team.
Gifts of all sizes make a difference. Supporters can visit https://hawaiiathletics.com/hawaiisteam to learn more or make a gift during Giving Week.
Giving Week serves as a prime opportunity for fans, alumni and supporters to invest in the future of UH Athletics by contributing directly to student-athlete scholarships, facilities, nutrition, mental health, academic support and more.
"When you give to UH Athletics, you're investing in more than wins and losses—you're investing in the future leaders of Hawaiʻi," UH Mānoa Athletics Director Matt Elliott said. "Our student-athletes work tirelessly in competition and in the classroom, and Giving Week is a chance for the community to be a part of Hawaiʻi's team."
The Our Team. Hawaiʻi's Team. campaign celebrates the deep connection between UH Athletics and the people of Hawaiʻi, emphasizing that when the team wins, the state wins.
"The University of Hawaiʻi is proud to be Hawaiʻi's university, and our student-athletes embody that mission every single day," UH President Wendy Hensel said. "Giving Week is a moment to come together and show our collective strength. Every gift is a statement of support for excellence, access and the power of education through sport."
For many student-athletes, community support means the difference between pursuing their dreams or putting them on hold.
"When we say Our Team, Hawaiʻi's Team, it really sends the message of everybody's team," Rainbow Warrior quarterback Micah Alejado said. "It's for everybody in the community. It's not just the University of Hawaiʻi football team, it's the state of Hawaiʻi's football team."
Together, let's stand behind Our Team. Hawaiʻi's Team.
