FULLERTON, Calif. – The Hawai'i baseball team dropped game two of its series at Cal State Fullerton Saturday, 9-1, evening the series at a game apiece.
The Rainbow Warriors were no-hit through 6.2 innings and finished the game with just a run on two hits. Fullerton's Jayden Harper started and no-hit the 'Bows over five innings of work with three strikeouts to earn the win before turning it over to the bullpen, which finished things off while allowing just three 'Bows to reach base.
For the second straight day, the Titans got on the board in the first inning scoring on a two-out double to make it 1-0. Fullerton added to the lead with two in the third inning as the first five batters of the inning reached, the last two of which each delivered RBI singles to make it 3-0.
The Titans added a single run in the fourth inning and three in the sixth inning, capped by a two-run homer in the sixth to put the game out of reach at 7-0 through six.
Ben Zeigler-Namoa put UH on the board with his fifth home run of the season, blasting a solo shot out to center field in the ninth to avoid the shutout.
The two teams wrap up their series Sunday at 10 a.m. HT.
