IRVINE, Calif.—The Big West Conference announced its all-conference awards for men's tennis on Thursday as voted by the league coaches. Two Rainbow Warriors earned all-conference honors. Senior
Quinn Snyder and junior
Azuma Visaya were voted to the All-Big West first team in doubles and both also earned all-Big West second team honors in singles.
In doubles Snyder and Azuma played in the fall together, but partnered up again late in the Spring season. Together, they posted a 4-2 overall record all on the No. 1 court. Snyder and Visaya won their last four-straight matches—including their opening match in last week's Big West Championship.
In singles, Snyder had a phenomenal year. After missing the first couple of weeks of the season, he came out firing. In the regular season, the native of Titusville, Fla. recorded a perfect 12-0 record primarily on the No. 2 court with four matches going unfinished. His lone loss came in the first round of the Big West Championship against UC Davis. Last year, Snyder earned all-Big West second team honors in both singles and doubles.
Visaya, who returned home to Hawai'i to play his final two seasons, played the entire season at No. 1. He finished his first year at Hawai'I ranked at No. 106 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll with a 7-10 overall record. Visaya started the season red-hot, earning three Big West Player of the Week awards early.
