SAN DIEGO, Calif.—The University of Hawai'I's third-seeded women's tennis team saw its season come to an end in the Big West Championship semifinals falling to #2 seed Cal Poly, 4-2. The Rainbow Wahine fought hard but came up short against the 59th-ranked Mustangs on Saturday afternoon at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. on Saturday.
  
The Mustangs won the doubles point to start the match. Cal Poly won on the No. 3 match with Natalia Lynch and Jessica MacCallum defeating UH's Hannah Galindo and Makeilah Nepomuceno, 6-2. On the No. 1 court, the Mustangs' Kennedy Buntrock and Romane Mosse defeated Hawai'i's Sheena Masuda and Peppi Ramstedt, 6-2. Hawai'i's No. 2 duo of Ana Vilcsk and Nikola Homolkova were leading Peyton Dunkle and Amy Leather 5-3 the the Mustangs captured the point.
 
In singles, UH's No. 4 Emma Forgac led off with a straight-set, 6-2, 6-2 win over Alexandra Ozerets. Hawai'i senior Vilcek pulled away for a two-set win over Buntrock on the No. 1 court to wrap up her Rainbow Wahine career, 7-5, 6-1. UH's No. 2 Homolkova was leading Cal Poly's Dunkle, 7-5, 4-2 when the match was clinched.
 
The Mustangs won their matches on Court No.'s 6, 5, and 3. On No. 6, CP's Natalie Lynch knocked off UH senior Sheena Masuda, 6-2, 6-3. The Mustang's No. 5 MacCallum  defeated UH's Nepomuceno, 6-1, 6-3 and No. 3 Mosse defeated UH senior Ramstedt, 6-3, 6-4.
 
The Rainbow Wahine finished the 2025 season with a 10-8 overall record while Cal Poly improved to 19-4 overall. It was the final collegiate matches for Nikola Homolkova, Joelle Lanz, Sheena Masuda, Peppi Ramstedt and Ana Vilcek.
